Presentation
Sharing and solidarity are two real values shared by the Gazelles.
These values represent a driving force rather than an end in themselves. In this regard, the Rallye and its Gazelles do not in the least wish to be described as a “humanitarian Rallye”.
The Rallye puts its strength and its image to the service of all through the Heart of Gazelles association, in existence since 2001.
Heart of Gazelles works in collaboration with the Moroccan Government on projects whose needs have been evaluated and calculated.
As a result, several project areas have been defined:
- Medical, by providing access to medical care for populations in the remote regions of Morocco
- Aid for children’s education
- Aid for an orphanage for children between 0 and 6 years of age.
In 2009, Heart of Gazelles has a new partner and a prestigious support, the Morrocan Ministry of the social Development, the Family and the Solidarity represented by Madam the Minister, Nouzha Skalli. A partnership agreement was signed on Tuesday, March 17th, 2009 in Meknès.
Medical: The Medical CaravanEach year, during the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles, thanks to the solidarity sponsorship of
TOTAL Energy Group and the infrastructure of the Rallye,
the Medical Caravan advises, helps, comforts and provides care for the local Moroccan population. In 2009, 4,582 people had access to medical care thanks to the TOTAL / Heart of Gazelles Medical Caravan.Aid for children’s education: “bicycles”In Morocco, the physical distance from college is one of the major factors influencing school dropout rates. Children often have to walk several kilometres to reach their college. Heart of Gazelles encourages children to continue their education by providing them with a means of individual and sustainable transportation:
a Picala, “bicycle” in Berber.
The Orphanage:In Essaouira, Morocco, an orphanage has been created with the support of Her Majesty the King Mohammed VI, to respond to a very real need.
It provides a home for:
- young children who have been abandoned within the hospital system
- street children
60 children including 22 babies live at the centre.
You can help us to build a brighter future for them.
How you can help:In 2009, more than 4 tonne of donations were collected by the Gazelles and distributed to the population after identifying their needs.
You are an individual or a company: you can support one of our projects by making a donation, tax deductible up to 66%.<<
