To pay your registration fees, you have 4 options:
1/ Your sponsors can pay your registration fee, equipment costs and services: This means that one of your sponsors will pay your registration fees directly to the event organizer.
2/ You can use an existing legal structure: This could be a company belonging to you, a friend or a sponsor which will collect the funds given by your different sponsors. This legal structure will pay the registration fees to the organization, as well as your other expenses.
3/ Your sponsors pay your registration fee directly to the event organizer, who is responsible for collecting and keeping track of the amounts paid: For this, MAIENGA will set up an account for you. Upon receiving your written request (by email or the post), we will send each of your sponsors an invoice for the indicated amount, up to the total amount of your registration fee.
4/ You can also create an association to collect funds from your various sponsors: We recommend this option. Nothing could be easier! As the procedure varies from one country to another, you should ask your local administration office for information or, if you have one, your local associations group on how to do this, and ask your bank about opening an account
Communication is the key!
- Put together a project presentation: You will receive a sample sponsorship file after you pre-register for the event. Use this document to help you in putting together a project presentation (for friends, acquaintances, potential sponsors...) You may decide to have one or several sponsors. Be positive: every year 70% of Gazelles are also taking part for the first time.
- Contact local companies and the Chamber of Commerce: Garages, shops or local banks have a local clientele. Sponsoring a team that gets articles in the local newspaper is a sure-fire way to get people talking.
- Contact the local media and authorities: Local or national radio, local newspaper, local television, the mayor, the regional or municipal council, etc...
- Use your social network: Talk about your project with friends and family and with your professional contacts.
- Be present on the web: Create a blog, be present on social networks, communicate by email.
- Carry out direct marketing: Develop a quick and snappy overview of your project. The goal: to get an appointment!
NB: Good communication only works on the long term. It is therefore important for you to develop a yearlong communication plan (before, during and after the event).
