Tangiers, Monday March 15th 2010

The COMANAV FERRY disembarks the European teams in the presence of international journalists and the Canadian, US and Moroccan teams, symbolically spreading the Union for the Mediterranean's message of "solidarity and sharing".

To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc, the brand new Tangiers port is the entry point onto Moroccan soil for this year's Gazelles, who are proudly wearing the Royal coat of arms.

A message from the President of the French Republic, Nicolas SARKOZY, is delivered by Olivier STIRN, Advisor to the President and former minister.

To complete the ceremonial welcome, the Gazelles and organizers are offered a buffet lunch overlooking the bay.

During the afternoon, at the Tangiers town hall, a series of round table discussions on the themes of Tanger 2020, crossroad for mondialisation, the energy challenges of tomorrow, and how to combine development with the environment, bring together participants such as:
