Starting out in a hilly area, the fourth leg juggles between passes to discover and wide-open spaces to tame.
This leg should provide no major difficulty in terms of navigation... Except for... Another new challenge for this 20th anniversary edition! (After all, 20 years is something to celebrate!)
Once again the surprise comes along with the map provided for the day's route. It never snows in the Sahara, so what is all that white space on the map? Almost everything has been erased, leaving only a few details, just enough for the Gazelles to triangulate and find their bearings. It will be essential to identify these landmarks and keep them in view at all times!

The terrain is fairly flat with stunning vast landscapes... but the highpoint of the show will occur between CP2 and CP3 where many a Gazelle will be filled with wonder at the charcoal-grey mountains with their dusting of pink sand.
