Starting Town of the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc
The administrative and technical verifications for the
19th edition of the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles will take place on
Saturday March 14th in SETE, on the French Mediterranean coast.238 Gazelles and 162 organizers will work together to ensure that the preparations for the competition proceed smoothly.
PROGRAM: Saturday March 14th, 2009:Welcoming the Gazelles, starting at
6:30 in Place Stalingrad, Sète.Administrative and technical verifications.
Come one, come all to show your support for the Gazelles in front of the
Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie de SETE - Quai Regy – starting at 9:00.
At 15:00,
The Mayor of SETE and the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry will announce the official start for the 119 teams taking part in this 19th edition. (In front of the CCI)
At 17:00: All of the teams and most of the members of the organization will board
the ship of our partner COMANAV, “Le Marrakech”. Departure for Tangiers. The Gazelles will spend two days and two nights on board ship, revising navigation concepts and swapping stories and information with returning Gazelles. They will arrive in
Tangiers on the morning of Monday March 16th.
En route to
Meknès, they will stop at a service station of our partner
Total for a bite to eat.
At 17:00, they will attend a general and competition briefing that will last for about 2 hours.
At 20:00,
Rallye partners Aïcha, Cristalline / Fayrouz and Total invite the Gazelles and Organizers to join them for an evening of festivities: a warm welcome to Morocco…
Meanwhile, other Organizers are already in Erfoud, coordinating the various tasks to be done in preparation for the arrival of the Gazelles: setting up the bivouac, placing the CPs for the prologue, positioning the radio relay team, installing technical systems, satellites... All of the logistics will take shape to finalise a project that began several months ago.
