And here it is, the big day, the legendary leg in the dunes. Sand by the shovelful for some, by the truckload for others, or even one grain at a time for the lucky ones? Don’t count on it. The quality of the sand is extremely dependent on the weather conditions. You have to be bold and know how to hold your pace. But sand is synonymous with solidarity and lending a hand, so navigating these “soft mountains” is no obstacle. On the other hand, those who prefer to abstain will have the chance to navigate the magnificent area around Hassi Beraber: challenging but oh, so beautiful!

The end of the leg will reunite the gazelles for a stretch requiring extremely precise navigation. Short hills that are next to impossible to cross, slopes strewn with rocks, hidden oueds and twin peaks, and on top of all that, the impending dusk…! For the Gazelles, every day brings a new race against the clock!
